Eric Cantona
Cantona came to England in 1991 and he certainly more than made a huge impact in the game. He was Leeds inspiration to their championship winning success during the 91-92 season and his £1.2 million move to Old Trafford made the entire premiership take notice. Cantona was brilliant in his debut season at Manchester united as he helped the win the title of the 92-93 season and repeated his great display’s the following season as United won the trophy in 1994.
After being banned from football for nine months, he returned during the 95-96 season and helped United to win the double (Premiership and FA Cup); he was also Manchester United’s leading goal scorer that season, scoring 14 goals. Cantona continued his fine form during the 96-97 season; however he chose to leave Manchester united at the end of the season on a high.
In total Cantona appeared for Manchester United on 144 occasions, scoring a very impressive 64 goals for his club, from his midfield position.

 

Gary Pallister
A tall and powerful central defender, Pallister hit the headlines when he move to play for Manchester United in August 1989 for £2.3 million. In his first season, he played in every match and helped them to win the FA Cup. The following seasons continued to bring about similar success; they won the European Cup Winners Cup in 1991, league Cup in 1992, League in 1993, League and FA Cup in 1994 and continued to win major trophies there on. Pallister was a key member of the Manchester United first team during their splendid era as they became the top football team in European football.
