Neil Webb
In June 1985, Neil Webb transferred from Portsmouth to Nottingham Forest for £250,000. Under the assured guidance of Brian Clough, Webb improved into one of the finest midfielders in Britain. In the 1989 League Cup final (Littlewoods Cup final), Webb orchestrated a fine Forest Victory, firing Clough’s team into the lead with a strong half volley in the second half. Alex Ferguson purchased Neil Webb for £1.5 million in 1989. Webb was an integral part of the Manchester United set up as he helped them win the FA Cup and European Cup Winners Cup.

Mark Hughes
Hughes won the FA Cup with Manchester United in 1990 and inspired them to win the 1994 FA Cup final, his performances in the semi final matches against Oldham was breath taking and if it was not for his heroic performances they would not have won the competition. Hughes’s finest hour came as he scored 2 of United’s goals in the European Cup Winners Cup final of 1991 against Barcelona. Hughes has also won the premiership twice with Manchester United, in the 1992-93 season and the 1993-94 campaign.
